"Gods and Goddesses should stay out of the business of the state..."
- a rambling idiot (ie me), circa 2005
"You may belong to any religion or caste or creed; that has nothing to do with the business of the State"
- a visionary freedom fighter, circa 1947
I didn't have the latter in mind when I said the former, at least not consciously. The man I quote is a much mis-represented one, idolized in one country of Desh, and villainised in another (and fictionalised in both). Yeah, you are right, it's quite obvious where a man with this message would have been a hero, and where an outcast. Or are you?
If you know who I am quoting, well done. If you don't, it may be an interesting education when you find out.
