Dear Reader,
May be you’ve come in search of lota. May be you seek poems on Jallianwallabagh. Or may be you are after the latest news on the remake of the Bollywood classic. Whatever your motivation might be, chances are that you’re from Desh, and observed Diwali or Eid this week. Brothers AAA wish to greet you on this week of festivals.
What if you do not observe the majority creeds of Desh? No matter, if we the AAA believe in one thing, we believe in ‘to each their own’, or as we say in Desh, Hindu Muslim Sikh Isaai, hum sab bhai bhai. And if your day of joy hasn’t been in this week, no matter, I’m sure you know a sister who makes ghulab jamun or semai.
What if you’re not religious? Well you don’t have to believe in any supernatural being to enjoy life. To use that old cliché, among the teeming multitude that is Desh, there is a place for us all.
And that goes for you even if you’re not a Desi — after all, from Siqander Shah to Sonia Gandhi, Desh embraced pardesis, and pardesis embraced Desh.
So then, in our chutnified way, allow us to wish you Happy Eidiwali.
Amar Akbar Anthony
