meanwhile, a change

I have decided to record my travel experiences. Much of what I will say will not be original or insightful, much will be trite, much will be better explained on wikipedia or lonely planet or somewhere else if you really wanted that information.

But it doesn't matter. I am not writing for the world, I will write this for my friends and for my family, for their amusement and interest only, and I will not consider the matter of the superfluousness of my writing. There was a poet who once said Let learned critics deride, my verse, Not for them I wrought, For time is infinite and the world is wide, and someday someone will live to share my thought.

And so I write not for anyone else but for a chosen few, and now I shall begin.
