Nobody seems to have commented on it in the media, so I will make the point here. England plays a practice game in Rajasthan later today. The Rajasthan Cricket Association President's XI is captained by Ajay Jadeja, born in Gujarat, and who played for a number of state teams before most recently switching to Rajasthan. Most certainly a mercenary.
Meanwhile, the English team is captained by one Vikram Solanki, who in fact was actually born in Rajasthan.
So a Rajasthani born Englishman will captain the opposition later today, while a pan-Indian mercenary born elsewhere will lead the Rajasthani side. Who will the locals cheer for more?
