On English pub food

Setting — Greenline tour company office at Victoria Station, where a day-trip to the Stonehenge is being organised.

Anthony: So what exactly is the English pub food?

Tour company guy: I don’t know, though I’d want a chicken tikka masala.

Anthony: I sure hope it’s not chicken tikka masala.

Tour company guy: What’s wrong with chicken tikka masala?

Anthony: Well it’s not exactly ‘English’, is it?

Tour company guy: I beg your pardon!

For the record, the tour company guy was Caucasian, but I am not qualified to comment on his Englishness.
